I want to create a sidecar container which will update the token in prometheus pod /etc/prometheus/token.txt

I am using below configuration in values.yaml to update /etc/prometheus/token.txt periodically:

 initContainer:
  - name: prom-init
    image: abc/prometheus:v2.x.1
    volumeMounts:
      - name: data
        mountPath: /etc/prometheus
  container:
  - name: prom-token
    image: xyz/prometheus:v2.x.1
    command: ["/bin/sh","-c","while true; do echo $date > /etc/prometheus/token.txt; sleep 30; done"]
    volumeMounts:
      - name: data
        mountPath: /etc/prometheus

But, after deploying Prometheus, I am unable to see the file /etc/prometheus/token.txt in the Prometheus pod once I exec into the pod.
