Project Idea

Project Submitted By

@wtfsayo

Summary

This project proposes to phase out https://github.com/raid-guild/design-system which had a long run, built in chakra ui and switch to tailwindcss/shadcn for faster iteration cycles.

Why should we build this?

  • Maintaining a separate design system is extra overhead
  • TailwindCSS has won alongside Shadcn in being highly customization and quick to iterate
  • Most AI friendly and customizable and supported by claude/v0 out of the box
  • Faster iteration cycles even for technical designers.
  • Single Globals.css file to rule em all

Anything else you'd like to add?

Not at this time.

Raid Party Skills Needed

  • Monk (Past DM experience as dev)
  • Full Stack Dev (Frontend Focused)

Cost (in ETH)

2 ETH

@wtfsayo mainly in favor of this. I haven't used TailwindCSS in a while tho, and on checking their docs, it looks like a bunch of components are locked behind a paywall: https://tailwindui.com/components

Do you feel pretty confident in rebuilding the whole application with all the components from scratch? Or even with the few components available for free?
