Number channels (stereo/mono) for audio stream processors

As far as I understood, audio stream processors always get float data.

Is it the case, that they always process stereo data (macro AUDIO_DEVICE_CHANNELS = 2), independent to the music stream (which my have a mono source)?

I see that the code contains:

    config.playback.channels = AUDIO_DEVICE_CHANNELS;

Is it that we can assume that AUDIO_DEVICE_CHANNELS is 2 or is this something that is expected to change often?
In our raylib wrapper this constant is hidden and the miniaudio config not accessible.

However, to process the audio stream processor the number of channels is required.

I assume I need to process frames * AUDIO_DEVICE_CHANNELS floats in typedef void (*AudioCallback)(void *bufferData, unsigned int frames);
