We probably want to switch to using a Dockerised development environment to simplify things - this will of course change the documentation significantly.
We no longer use the Insiders Edition of Material for MkDocs, so we need to change the instructions accordingly.
Windows instructions are a little unclear as to whether to use WSL, bash (eg git-bash), or CMD/PowerShell. We need a very clear, worked example of one of these, whichever is the best.
