In a comment in the Guidelines for the indicator A1-02M Metadata identifier resolves to a metadata record, @markwilkinson notes:

"Note that the Principle (purposely) does not use the word "resolve", but rather uses the word "retrieve". This was to avoid this interpretation, where (in your glossary) "resolve" is a network activity."

Are there other ways of 'retrtieving' a digital resource that are not network activities?

(Please note that there is also indicator A1-01D Data can be accessed manually for retrieval that is not network-based)

Hi Makx, I am just browsing through the issues, but here I can contribute something: yes, 'retrieving a digital resource' I can achieve by going with my USB memory stick to my colleague's computer, and copying thus without network to my own computer. Hope this issue is still relevant. Best!
