Gas fees can be thought of as transaction fees that users pay to interact with the blockchain

The most common occurrences of gas fees includes:

• Users pay to deploy a contract
• Users pay to publish information to the blockchain
• Users almost always pay gas fees when inputting their private key (password) into a wallet interface
• Gas fees occur at consensus steps (when writing information to the blockchain)
