When using the VS Code and the usual Java Extensions (Extension Pack for Java, Language Support(Red Hat), Debugger for Java) the color highlighting of the imports and some variables is kinda odd. In addition to that quick fixes are no longer availible.

This whole setup was working just fine until monday (20.3). This is a company computer so I dont what caused this error.

I've tried to reinstall VS Code aswell as all the extensions and it still appears in older VS Code Versions (1.70.2) and extension versions (down to 1.13).
Sorry if this problem was already mentioned and I was unable to finde the issue and solution for this.

Environment
  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
  • JDK version: 17.0.6
  • Visual Studio Code version: 1.76.2
  • Java extension version: 1.16

Did you use the Spring Boot extensions? If yes, maybe this can help: #2941 (comment)

Unfortunately not.

The strange thing is that if the extension is uninstalled or switched to the pre-release version, while reinstalling or switching back to the release version the highlighting seems to work for like 3 seconds and then switches off again. Thats how I got the screenshot.
