First boot setup after flashing

⚠️ WARNING NOTE

These adaptation0, aliendalvik, sailfish-eas, xt9 repositories are enabled by default, but it is wrong because they can be refreshed only when the device has a Jolla account. Otherwise, a relative long timeout for each of them keeps the refresh procedure stuck. Therefore, the Jolla account creation and deletion actions must take care of enabling and disabling them, which must be set as disabled by default. Until this fix will be implemented and provided this script deal with this aspect enabling or disabling those repositories.

This script provides a standard system configuration immediately after the first boot, after the flashing procedure:

  • rfos-first-setup.sh - it is now available for testing by advanced end-user (reworked on 5th Aug 2023).

It has been designed to be functional even when the mobile device has not any Internet connection executing it from a GNU/Linux workstation. Hower, it works also running on the mobile device with some limitations which makes it useful for a 2nd time setup at user on-demand request.

These are its dependencies:

The standard term here means about a starting point from which it is supposed everyone wishes to debug and fix the SFOS is put on working for quick results comparison and their reproducibility. Plus, it adds those command-line tools like pigz and rsync that are useful in doing advanced root filesystem and users home folders backups.

Installation

A script is provided to install in your $HONE/bin all scripts that are ready to use with your GNU/Linux distribution (PCOS).

The installation procedure works for SFOS and PCOS both, it is quite simple and can be done on-the-fly in this way:

fle=rfos-suite-installer.sh
sha=8d0610af6734089751d11b1db9dfbe0042213479 #; sha=main
url=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/robang74/redfishos
url=$url/$sha/scripts/$fle
{ wget $url -qO - || curl -sL $url; } | bash

If you like to use the last version of this script then replace the sha value with main or devel if you dare.
