How do you cols_merge() in gt for summary rows?

I'm brand new to gt as of 1 week ago, and perhaps I just haven't found the "gt way" to do this, but I have a table of counts that I want to show percentages next to them (might be similar to gtsummary, but I think I have more control in pure gt (?)).

A detailed question with data is here, but in brief, when I create the percentages I need manually, I can do that for rows, summary rows, and grand summary rows. When I go to merge columns, it only works on the rows -- not the summary or grand summary. Maybe this is not possible but it seems like it should be, in which case I suppose I'd like to make a feature request, @rich-iannone (love your videos!!!)

FWIW -- I think that this problem/question I'm describing above is already a known issue.
