Currently all profiles appear roughly the same with a 19-24 degree slope in a fixed dimensioned box with varying scales. This issue is to request that some feature(s) be developed to allow better viewing and comparing the true slopes of runs. As it stands the profile feature is only useful in observing the length and frequency of green/blue/black slopes and does not assist in comparing. Some ideas to enable this:
Variable graph height, fixed graph width, fixed rise scale. This makes for true slope and even somewhat useful comparisons of slope however the descent/length of runs will not be comparitively useful.
Variable graph height, variable graph width, fixed rise scale, fixed run scale. This would allow most accurate comparisons.
Below is an example:
The leftmost Mixing Bowl and White Heat look identical in slope and size, they can not be usefully compared.
The Mixing bowl directly to the right of White Heat has been modified so that the rise/run scales are physically the same, White Heat coincidentally is already roughly correct. The slopes of the two runs can now be compared, this is equivalent to the first suggestion.
Finally the rightmost Mixing Bowl takes the previous modification and further scales it in both dimensions to have the same scale as the White Heat profile, this is equivalent to the second suggestion (I did not fix the scale labels on this one)
As you can see now, Mixing Bowl is quite a lot shallower and shorter! I think the first suggestion should be default and the second suggestion should be toggleable. The current view I do not see having value beyond keeping the graph dimensions. At least on my device the bottom left corner of the page is effectively wasted space anyway and the run info box changes in height depending on tags and overflows, I don't think the profile graph changing height should be an issue.
