👍 It's something I have in mind. I recently added support for support site=piste relations, and now it should be feasible to show parking lots & other amenities that are within a site=piste relation.
Showing all parking lots & rest stops, including ones not part of a site=piste relation is probably not feasible with the current data fetching approach (Overpass API), unless this data can be pulled from Mapbox
I hope to have parking also for XC ski trails, so it is possible support this also with relation "type=route & route=piste"?
Or do you have other suggestion for tagging it in OSM? I guess one way would be to make a very large relation covering whole city/area and include pistes (or piste relations) and parking lots to it.
The site=piste relation works great for cross country skiing areas as well (in fact, this tagging scheme was proposed by an avid cross country skier, Yves, who is the creator of OpenSnowMap)
Given that the parking lot is not part of the route itself, I would suggest not adding it to the route relation, but instead create a site=piste relation which includes all the ski trails and parking lots for skiing.
Hi!
Feature request:
Would be super to see parking lots and rest stops on the map. Because often one goes by car and the car needs to be parked somewhere.
OSM data can be filtered with "access=yes" if needed.
