liquidsoap 2.3.0 Icecast Output is fast and distorted

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me with this one as I am fiddling around with it for some time.

I tried to upgrade my scripts and my docker container from liquidsoap 2.1.4 to 2.3.0 and have a funny problem that the icecast output sounds completely distorted and super fast as if you were playing fast forward with a wrong sampling rate. The source stream sounds completely normal.

So what am I trying to do?

All over again.

So my question is. Am I doing something entirely wrong or did someone already experience this issue and managed to solve it?

I also tried removing the buffer and the clock assignment but that didn't solve it. The clock is there as I have usecases where I have multiple icecast outputs and I want to decouple them from each other.

Hi!

I see a couple of issues here:

• Why the inline encoder? Unless you are doing complex things like setup multiple encoded output from the same data source, this is adding a lot of complexity for no good reason.
• Why the buffer/clock? Same thing, unless this is an extract of a larger script, this is adding a lot of complexity for no good reason.

In general, my recommendation is always to prune your script down to the most simple solution first!

Here's how a simple solution would look:

encoded_stream = input.http("SOME URL") 

output.icecast(
      id="icecast:#{stream}",
      %ffmpeg(format="mp3", %audio(codec="libmp3lame",samplerate=44100,b="128k"),
      fallible=true,
      mount="/#{mount}",

The buffer, clock and output are wrapped into a function. The script is dynamically created so by using a function I can have sometimes up to 10 outputs running. To not have an encoder in every output I took it out of the output.

As a little update, I downgraded to liquidsoap 2.2.5 yesterday and now it works.
