This is awesome. The only problem I see is when the ball moves too fast, it teleports. Maybe a line of travel can be calculated, and based on the dimension of the ball offset everything along the line.

Yea, I guess something could be done about that. Using the method you suggest or clamping the ball velocity would probably work.
