syslog plugin

Hi.
I'm having trouble installing and configuring the syslog plugin.
what is the correct procedure to install and configure it?
i am missing the rsyslog-mysql part, how can i install it?

I have installed this plugin in Cacti.
However, no message is collected.
Syslog plugin requires of 'rsyslog' service to connect to the Maria db. And a cacti.conf file describes the format of the syslog message and how to connect to the db.
However, I can not get the rsyslog send the syslog messages to the Maria db.
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
