ROI extraction

Hello, I would like to ask, is your ROI region identified by the pathologist or is there another algorithm that extracts it and then examines it by the pathologist? If it's the second option, can you tell us about the algorithm you use? Thank you so much！

For TCGA and NLST datasets, to refine our analysis within the tumor region, the tumor ROI for each of the pathology slides were labeled and confirmed by pathologists using the ImageScope software.

For OPMD and LCMC datasets, regions with epithelial/tumor cell density above certain thresholds were regarded as ROI and then examined by pathologist. For the 2nd option, the algorithm is still HD-Staining, just followed by cell density estimation.
