What should be done to fulfill it in a neat way:

Bump minimal confluent-kafka version >= 1.7.0 - chosen 1.9.0 as it already doesn't contain bug.
Remove all self-written kerberos stuff
Clean-up the docs on that hotfix
Remove generation of #TypeSafe configs for confluent-kafka earlier than 1.9.0 (raise error) and corresponding versions of CONFIURATION.md
