This package has a goal of maintaining Zipline of course but was first created to provide the live trading functionnality.

So if you have an IB or Alpaca account you can simply take your strategy to live trade almost instantly: going live

Pros zipline-trader:

• Live Trading
• IB, Alpaca, Sharadar, Alpha Vantage

Pros zipline-reloaded:

• Compatible with the most current Python and Pandas versions (Python: 3.9)
• Conda package

So both of them have worthwhile advantages; imho it would be ideal if they joined forces.
