Sketch out the design for a super simple social profile / business card dapp, with front end interface.

User is instructed how to personalize, and extend over time.

Have it in a single GitHub repo. Make it work with a fork and publish as GitHub pages in any Web3 browser.

Some other features / instructions on publishing to IPFS.

Special features / support in apps like Status.

3Box support / integration?

Escrow is a super simple one, but I only have the Soldity code for it.

We did this one with the Remix team https://slides.com/ninabreznik/deck-11-13

@ninabreznik thank you — I made another issue with your voting slides. Escrow is another option we have in mind for FISSION to be reusable.

A design goal I am thinking of is something very personal that can appeal to everyone.

We can help out with this. If we find a good simple dapp example, we can try to help with creating a tutorial. Now that we created 2 complex ones already and ran couple of workshops, we (@serapath and I) know already what is important to stress (therefore also all these detailed screenshots).

We are actually working on a workshop module, so all the workshops will be available inside of the tool (quick peak into our pre-alpha, not released yet), so you can either create your own workshop and use the module to display it or we can even help with the workshop (but in maybe 2+ weeks) https://ninabreznik.github.io/play-workshop-app/

Hey @bmann this a cool little project! The 3Box team would be happy to support the initiative with distributed social profiles for ethereum accounts.

@ninabreznik are you at all familiar with what we've been building over at 3Box? Our 3Box.js library (https://github.com/3box/3box-js) should provide you with a web3-compatible javascript interface for setting/getting data to IPFS. Works great for dapps looking to give users control over their data, but who don't want to store a hash on-chain for scalability, cost, privacy and UX reasons. We have an example dapp in the repo.

Let me know how I can help!

Hey @bmann ! Would you want to kick start this project over the next two weeks?

@CPSTL I think this is mainly on me to find time to write up a brief as a first step, and then invite others to PR it / give feedback.

This is what I think the steps are:

  • write high level brief / goals (e.g. one goal as I listed at the top is "work out of the box with Github Pages")
  • decide what the base platform is -- we would want it to be FISSION / FISSION Translate enabled, and 3box looks like a good social thing + IPFS thing to include
  • hack up a first version
  • work with Nina & the Wizard amigos to help develop a tutorial
  • profit! community!

Don't know if I'll get to it this week. But it maaaaay be a good holiday writing project!
