Trying out some basic notes here this week:

  • Brittany: Foundation nominations increased (+6 to 9 total), next step is how to collaborate, will be shared on the forum, using GitHub to formalize afterward. The minimum number for the board are 3, the bylaws are what enact those existing board members, not set in stone yet and need to be accepted by the board, number we will add to the board is open ended, recommendation of no more than 9. Fewer than 6 would leave opportunity down the road.
  • Brittany: no minimum number of nominations and timeline (goal) for board meeting is early Q3 (July), could be later. Term length is a big question and looking for community input. Also formalizing the community board seat.
  • Lane: the power of defaults. How can we better express that things are open and permissionless by default?
  • Phillip: the survey was advertised recently but already closed, should we create a new, shorter version so we can capture people who are interested now?
  • Milan: incentives are important, do not rely on just enthusiasm to complete tasks like the survey, will provide additional information in related issues
  • Brittany: engineering calls are open for other engineers to input, but it is in early stages, and will be a part of the SIP processes. This call is to provide the transparency as we move forward.
  • Harold: very high-level overview of FabAcademy documentation and items, please read the shared doc and help us review how we can apply these ideas within our own ecosystem, will contribute more comments here on GitHub
  • Phillip: founding document review and code of conduct should move up to action items, based on values and principles, default to open and permissionless as Lane mentioned earlier.

Admittedly, I was a little caught up in the call so this list is in no way exhaustive or a full representation / summary of the meeting. More detailed notes will be available after the recording goes live, and as always, feel free to comment and contribute wherever you feel called!
