Need help visualizing this database #1
Comments
Hi, I'm unsure of what I'm looking at here. It may be helpful (for me) to know what data I'm looking at and where it's coming from? It may inspire organization with an impact. |
Hey! The spreadsheet includes data on the overall prison populations within each state, the % of prisoners who currently work (with breakdowns by race), the avg number of hours they work, the amount they are paid for their work, the minimum wage for each state, and (in the last column) the total amount of money that's "missing" because they are exploited I.e. paid far below the minimum wage. The goal is to do a visualization that demonstrates the scale of the prison labor workforce and how much exploitation is taking place within this sector.

Great! I appreciate your swift response. Would you like to divulge from where the data are collected? |

We need help creating a compelling interactive graphic based on this database. The goal is to communicate immediately to the user the level of exploitation of prison laborers in each state and nationwide.
