How to include short-term / long-term capital gains costs into the portfolio calculation?

I would like to keep track of the capital gain implications of trades as the portfolio is being updated. Is there a good way starting place that I could be pointed to in order to contribute back on this?

I think I'd need to create a new Metric and have it added to the tracker perhaps, but I'm not sure.
