<p>The predicate of a pivatol sentence is made up of two verbal phrases, the object of the first verb being the subject of the second. The first verb is often a caustive verb, such as "<b>请</b>" (<b>qǐng</b>: to invite), "<b>让</b>" (<b>ràng</b>: to let) and "<b>叫</b>" (<b>jiào</b>: ask) For example:</p>
