This script works perfectly for me except one cosmetic issue.
When I click on one of the mapped areas the box opens which says "area label clicked".
I have a popup which contains descriptive text and graphic which opens.
I would like to turn off the default click indication and have it go straight to my pre defined pop up so the user does not need to click okay to get to the info.

Sorry - I found the solution:
Just delete the alert string - alert($(this).attr('alt') + ' clicked')
