laggy and not responding

Description of the bug

When i copy paste something it go into not responding mode for 5-10 second it very irritating this issue comes when i upgrade to version 4 when i am using sublime text 3 it is working very smooth

I am always using latest ST dev builds on Win 10/11 with over 100 packages. My packages folder is of about 3GB of size. Still ST starts in 0.5s and I haven't noticed any lags, especially not 5s.

If you just upgraded from ST3, maybe an old plugin is misbehaving. Various package provide ST4-only releases with special fixes for recent builds.

Make sure all packages have been updated correctly and maybe clean cache directory via Package Control: Clear Cache Directory.

Otherwise more detailed information about pasted content, involved syntaxes, installed packages etc. would be required to narrow down possible reasons and provide any support.

I am getting similar problems on MacOS using the latest version 4192.
It seems to be a bit random, for example when I started this morning there two separate windows open, the window I started working on was laggy in all aspects, so scrolling was stuttering, the cursor movement was the same when using arrow keys and it also affects typing, so characters type mat appear immediately or take several seconds to appear.
For this file, I closed the window then reopened the file and it was fine!
I have already tried completely removing Sublime and re-installing but the problem came back.
I am running on a MacBook M3 Pro with 38G RAM and the lagging only ever happens in Sublime, on occasions I have reverted to VSCode or Textastic because of these issues! And yes I do have a license for Sublime.
