About the project

Renewable energy allows us endless access to energy. Unfortunately we have to harvest the energy when it is available.
EMDO is an energy manager that helps you to automate major loads. Major loads include things such as heat pumps, water heaters, laundry dryers and electric car. This increases the self-consumption quote whilst reducing the power consumption from the grid in order to save you money!
EMDO is a programmable energy manager and makes it easy to interface between different manufacturers. EMDO is easy programmable through its webinterface with BASIC programming language - an easy to learn but powerfull programming language.

Self consumption of renewable energy

Self consumption quote of your produced energy can be increased by switching the loads on, while the photovoltaic plant produces excess energy that exceeds the power consumption of your house.
To quantify this amount of energy, a smart energy meter is connected right after the energy meter from your power company. Some power companies have smart energy meters installed which allow a automated digital readout by the customer. In such a case there is no need for an additional energy meter.
Under ideal conditions the load's power consumption follow the amount of excess power that is currently available. In practice, most loads can only be switched on and off. For this reason loads need to be scheduled. High power loads better run midday, smaller loads can run all daytime long. On a cloudy day or even snowy day even a small load consumes too much energy.
Some loads also have to be run regularly, e.g. nobody likes a cold shower on a snowy day.

About the hardware

EMDO hardware has been designed to last for decades with a low power but powerfull processor (power consumption less then one Watt).

If you prefer to not use the automatic generator, push a branch named
gh-pages
to your repository to create a page manually. In addition to supporting regular HTML content, GitHub Pages support Jekyll, a simple, blog aware static site generator. Jekyll makes it easy to create site-wide headers and footers without having to copy them across every page. It also offers intelligent blog support and other advanced templating features.

Authors and Contributors

You can @mention a GitHub username to generate a link to their profile. The resulting

element will link to the contributor’s GitHub Profile. For example: In 2007, Chris Wanstrath (@defunkt), PJ Hyett (@pjhyett), and Tom Preston-Werner (@mojombo) founded GitHub.

Having trouble with Pages? Check out our documentation or contact support and we’ll help you sort it out.
