As a feature request, make a signup page, allowing to create user account.

I concur, but I would suggest making it so that it can be toggled.

Yes there should be some system setting for this. In most of use-cases (what I'm aware of) people uses Taskboard with restricted access to actual application and projects.

Although new users cannot see projects that he/she is not created or setted to be a member of it. Let's keep this open and gather more ideas for this.
