Bar under tabs looks wrong on windows

I think there is a bug here on windows:

I think the bar under the tabs should be a solid colour the whole way across.

Not just Windows, I am also experiencing the same issue on OS X. Also, I intermittently have the same problem with the close tab image that you have.

Yep, same problem here (work: Windows), will check it again at home (OS X).

Had the same problem on Windows 7. Restarted Sublime and it fixed itself.

It's fixed on both Win and Mac if you restart Sublime.

Though I'd prefer the bar to be removed completely in favour of some more pixels screen real-estate.

As you might expect, a restart fixes it for Linux too.

Changing color_scheme to something else and changing back fixed the issue without a restart for me
