External use of HistoryImpl

Hello, I'm wondering if implementations of kbar are supposed to be able to access the internal History at all. I see HistoryImpl listed in the API reference but I dont see a straightforward way to be able to get the history. Does someone have an example on if this can be done? I'm looking to display a few recently ran actions when you toggle the kbar. Thanks!
