Installation

Debian-based Linux distributions

1/ Download and import Oracle public key

$ wget -q https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox_2016.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -
$ wget -q https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -

2/ Add Oracle VirtualBox PPA. According to your distribution, replace '' with 'artful', 'zesty', 'yakkety', 'xenial', 'trusty', 'stretch', 'jessie', or 'wheezy' (older versions of VirtualBox supported different distributions).

Ubuntu:

  • 19.04: disco
  • 18.04: bionic
  • 16.04: xenial
$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=amd64] https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian <mydist> contrib"

3/ Update packages list information & install VirtualBox

$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install virtualbox-6.0
