How does one explicitly install the ASOP patch on Android device?

I have the same question. I'm not a developer and the only download link on your website redirects here with nothing to download.

There is extensive documentation on the web on how to compile AOSP and flash it to your device. For example, see here: https://source.android.com/setup/building. To use our patch, you just need to clone AOSP and apply our patch before compiling it.

I'm quite certain that process (aka me) will FUBAR the unofficial LineageOS ROM I use. Thanks for getting back to me though, appreciate it.

eheh, sorry buddy :-) Our patch also mainly focuses on stock Android, so applying it blindly against LineageOS will probably not fly, you may need some tweaks :-)
