Usar alguna madre de geoip (aunque sea chafa) para medio centrar el mapa en la región próxima del usuario, luego hacer más inteligente el pedo del pedir tu ubicación, chance implementando algo como esta búsqueda, que me resolvería algunos pedos de layout.
