There seems to be a discrepancy in the nomenclatures. When reading the documentation, it can be difficult to make sense of the context to infer which to use in which case and make troubleshooting difficult.

Data Structure: as recorded in the db refers to product_id as a UID number and product_name as the string identifier.
Message Structure: as show in the document product_id refers to the string identifier of the product.

Alternative ID and asset_id might suffer from something similar?
