As described in the title above, I unfortunately cannot start my Windows 10. At some point I get a blue screen, the automatic repair of Windows 10 has unfortunately not worked. For this reason, I inserted the VC Rescue Disc and tried to use it to permanently decrypt the SSD hard disk. After only about 10 GB of process progress, I got an error:
Read Error:128 Drive:0 Sector:417330425
After I told it to skip all bad sectors, the message came up that it seemed to continue, but unfortunately it did not. The counter for how many MB were left only went down by 1MB and nothing else happened until I tried to abort the process after a few minutes with Escape. After that, and after "Updating headers" there was another sector error, always the same, which was displayed several times until the process was finally terminated somehow and the main menu of the rescue disk was displayed again.
I now had the idea to mount the hard disk under Ubuntu 22.04 with Veracrypt. Unfortunately, this did not work, although I had activated the corresponding checkbox for system-wide hard disks. Error message please see screenshot.
The SSD is approx. 11 years old. I ordered a new one today.
