Hello, sorry to bother you, I am a Chinese student, I want to use strand-seq data to verified inversion in my genome, I have consult several companies but in vain. can you tell me which company can do or where do you do it? many thanks.

Hi, good question. Strand-seq data isn't easy to obtain. I'm fairly sure that there is no company you could contact to obtain data, so there are basically three options:

  1. Use existing data. Strand-seq FASTQ files are publicly available from the NCBI Sequence Read Archive for at least 40 or 50 individuals. NCBI search
  2. Collaborate with one of the labs that produces Strand-seq data. The labs of Peter Lansdorp in Vancouver, Jan Korbel in Heidelberg, and Diana Spierings in Groningen all can produce the data.
  3. Generate the data yourself. A paper from 2017 gives the protocol details. I am part of a group publishing an updated protocol as well (in press). The paper
