Gdata has not been maintained anymore, and it makes sense to use https://github.com/google/google-api-python-client. This issue is for tracking the progress for it

@vinitkumar This is not true anymore. There has been some good activity on the repo for this https://github.com/google/google-api-python-client. Moving the discussion to #274 and closing this ticket.
