Summary

Set network and social metrics to measure the success of Waku and the ROI of eco dev activities.

Justification

Waku is a public good infrastructure that harness the developer, platform, contributor and operator community to strengthen its USP: privacy-preserving, censorship-resistant, surveillance-prone and portable.
To be successful and sustainable, Waku needs a strong community.

Metrics are necessary to understand the success of eco dev activities and grow Waku's ecosystem in a resourceful manner.

monthly update

A metric dashboard was published at https://waku-metrics.vercel.app/ as the infra team was not able to deploy the NextJS application. The published dashboard does not work for everyone.
Steps are taken to correct this with involvement from other Waku dev. The intent is:

1. Get a working dashboard for social metric (Discord/Twitter) with proper FE/BE architecture
2. Understand what tech is infra able to host
3. Then add network metrics from grafan such as daily bandwidth, daily message rate, daily content topic seen by wakuv2.prod fleet
4. Last but not least, more network metrics which cannot be fetched via Grafana such as running discovery to find nodes in the network and count them.
