Edit: The Mozilla Public License 2.0 has been chosen as the license of choice for Waldo projects.

This project is currently unlicensed and in the future when code starts to get submitted this will certainly become an issue. To rectify this, a license should be chosen fairly soon.

A few suggestions include:

• GNU Affero General Public License v3
• Apache License 2.0
• Mozilla Public License 2.0

A great site to help you choose a license is choosealicense.com. It provides a basic overview of each license's key items. Something else to consider is the which "type" of license you want and the snyk team seems to have done a good job with their article on the matter.

Right now, I'm leaning towards Mozilla Public License 2.0

I'd personally choose the AGPL v3 as that closes a loophole about distribution and it's very copyleft. So in the event someone forks the project we can be sure to that the community will still benefit from whatever changes they might make.

I agree, though I am not the most familiar with the license breakdown we should ensure the greatest copyleft protection. Especially given the potential commercial use of the software.
