About Me

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing of the National University of Singapore. I am bootstrapping WEISER group.

WEISER group consists of a curiosity driven group of students, engineers and researchers interested in Wireless, Embedded systems and Intelligence, Sensing and Emerging Technologies (WEISER). We build real systems. We commonly work at the intersection of the area of electronics, communication and computer science.

Research Interest

Over the past decade, My research interests have centered around wireless, networking, and embedded systems, and the intersection of these areas with other domains. Often my research efforts involves combining elements from electronics, communications and computer science. My research effort also often involves working with domain expterts and researchers from Industry.

  • [Q2 2022] Organisational role and committee member for various scientific events: Jury member 2022 ABB Research Award, ACM MobiCom 2023 (Web chair), IEEE Infocom 2023 (TPC member), IEEE Infocom 2022 (Session chair), CPS-IoTBench 2022 (Session chair), ACM LP-IoT 2022 (with Mobicom)(TPC Member), Perfail 2023 (TPC Member)
  • [Q1 2022] Joint work with Wenqing Yan (Uppsala University) and Prof. Prabal Dutta (University of California, Berkeley) was accepted/presented at ACM MobiSys 2022.
  • [Q1 2022] Served on the jury of the ABB Research Award in Honor of Hubertus von Grünberg in 2022. This awards research endowment (approximately 300k USD) is the highest offered by any commercial organization to support academic research.
  • [Q1 2022] Invited talk at ACM LP-IoT Workshop (co-located with MobiCom)
  • [Q1 2022] Started as an Assistant Professor at School of Computing of the National University of Singapore. Bootstrapping the WEISER research group.
  • [Q4 2021] Presented joint work with IMDEA Networks, Spain at ACM MobiCom 2021. This research work was also covered in popular media.

  • [Q4 2019] Uppsala University Innovation appreciated our battery-free sensing work with Attractive Innovation Award and selected it among Top 15 projects from the University! Find the press release here
  • [Q4 2019] For my doctoral dissertation work, I received the prestigious ABB Research Award 2019. The award includes endowment valued at 300,000 USD. I received this award from CEO of ABB - Peter Voser, and CTO of ABB Bazmi Husain, and the former chair of board of directors of ABB - Hubertus von Grünberg.

I am an engineer and an experimental computer scientist. Most of my research projects are application driven. They can be broadly classfied under one of the following research themes.
