Can't Install on MacOS #397
Comments
Unfortunately I don't have a mac so I have no way to debug this. Would appreciate if anyone else vouches that the latest version does/doesn't work. Also, is it possible to download the previous version and then update within the client? |
I am on a mac too! And I can vouch that it does indeed show a dialog saying the app is damaged. It does so for Releases 2.16 and 2.15 as well. For release 2.14, macOs states that the app can't be opened because the developer cannot be verified. Once installed, version 2.14 of the app does prompt that an update is available, but trying to do so gives this error: Failed to update The app is usable, however plugins can't be installed so 3rd party sources are not an option. |
I also vouch for this issue |
I experienced this error too and looking it up found that this can be due to the Quarantine flag on the app, I don't know why it states that it is broken instead of blocked and then allowing an override. This can be confirmed by running (in a terminal) You can delete/clear the flag and Houdoku appears to work fine. This is bypassing security features so just keep that in mind. I don't know if everything is functioning as intended as some of the sources seem to display nothing, but that may be normal(?) |
