Why is Zephyr shipping this ancient fork of openocd in its SDK? It appears to be unmaintained and as far as I can tell, it does not (/no longer) add any Zephyr specific functionality on top of what is already included in upstream openocd.
The commit it is based on (480d4e1) is three years old by now and there have been major updates to openocd in the meantime with support for more targets, etc...
