Is it worth to support MIPS III? @carenas what do you think?

If the objective is to clean up the code, then there is little benefit by dropping MIPS III and would need instead to drop everything before r2 which is IMHO too drastic considering r6 (likely the last release and that is itself 5 years old) doesn't even compile.
