I'm update the extension to v57 and after unlocking the screen the icons desappear.

How to reproduce:
Lock the screen.
Unlock the screen.
The icons disappear.

Confirmed working for me personally with v54 after noticing similar bug with v57

Ubuntu 16.04.4
4.4.0-128-generic
GNOME Shell 3.20.4
