This study examines the labor market reintegration of intra-EU return migrants in Spain, comparing them with internal migrants and non-movers. Using data from two nationally representative surveys of university graduates and vocational trainees, we analyze employability, earnings, and occupational status. Contrary to expectations, return migrants face employment disadvantages compared to non-movers and internal migrants. However, they experience earning premiums, particularly those with longer migration experiences or who relocate upon return. Occupational status outcomes are mixed, with return migrants showing initial advantages that diminish after controlling for selection bias. English language proficiency correlates positively with earnings for all groups, especially return migrants, but counterintuitively associates with lower occupational specificity. Job-specific experience abroad proves crucial for return migrants, helping to mitigate disadvantages in occupational status. These findings contribute to understanding the complex dynamics of skill transferability and labor market outcomes within the EU, highlighting the relevance of the context of migration and return in returnees' reintegration.</dc:description> <dc:date>
