KaniManabu 1.0 Beta 1
This is a beta release of KaniManabu, which implements a bunch of refinements.
Note: The business plan to support the app's development has changed. One-time purchases licenses and upgrade pricing is no longer being offered as we going to a subscription model. Subscriptions will be available for $1.99 a month, $17.99 a year, or $49.99 for lifetime through the App Store via In-App Purchase. This will allow us to provide premium neural TTS without user entering API key (Microsoft and maybe IBM Watson), deck sharing, text analyzer, conjugation practice, and more while supporting future development. Active patrons will be able to unlock these features for free as little as $1. The apps themselves will still be free and user does not have to subscribe, but they are subject to deck limitations, no access to premium features along with a nag notice on launch.
I do plan to make it possible for Patrons to unlock these features by authorizing the account. App Store subscription fees are higher due to Apple's higher commission fees. For the beta, only Patrons can unlock the premium features. My goal is to create a go-to Japanese study app for Apple Devices while being an open source, cheaper and easier to use alternative compared to Anki, Kitsun and others. Since this app will heavily utilize iCloud, we have no plans to port to other platforms.
The source code for the premium features will remain open source, but require the user to set their own up.
