Services Framework Deployment

Before You Deploy:
- Ensure that all other users are logged off of all farm servers
- Ensure that all PowerShell and SharePoint Management Shell windows are closed on all servers
- Ensure that the deployment files (WSP + PS Scripts) have been copied to a folder on a server in the farm.

Barista Deployment Steps
- Using "Run as Administrator", open a new PowerShell (not SharePoint Shell) window.
- Navigate to the directory where this file was unzipped
- Edit the Solutions-dev.xml in this folder and replace any urls with urls of the local environment
- Execute the following command:
.\Deploy.ps1 -Config Solutions-[config].xml -ManagedAccount [SPAppPool Acct] -SPApplicationPoolName "Barista Application Pool" -Uri [Localhost]

Verify Barista Deployment

Verify that the Service Application has been installed:
- Open Central Admin.
- Under "Application Management" Click "Manage Service Applications"
- Verify that a Service Application named "Barista Service Application" appears in the list.

Verify that the Barista Service has been started on a server in the farm:
- Open Central Admin.
- Under "System Settings" click "Manage Services on Server"
- Under the server dropdown, select an application server.
- Verify that the service named "Barista Service" has been started.
- If it has not been started, press start and perform an IIS reset.

Verify that the Barista Search Service has been started on a server in the farm:
- Open Central Admin.
- Under "System Settings" click "Manage Services on Server"
- Under the server dropdown, select an application server.
- Verify that the service named "Barista Search Service" has been started.
- If it has not been started, press start.

Verify that the Barista Service Application is functioning nominally:
- From the deployment location, execute the following powershell script:
.\TestBaristaServiceApplication.ps1 -Uri [Your URI]
- Verify that the result is 42.

Add local host to trusted locations
- Open Central Admin.
- Under "Application Management" Click "Manage Service Applications"
- Click "Barista Service Application"
- Using the buttons, add the URL of the local host, optionally trusting children

Use Barista Fiddle
- Navigate to http://[localhost]/15/_layouts/baristafiddle/
- Start working with Barista!
Execute the following command:
.\Uninstall.ps1 -SPApplicationPoolName "Barista Application Pool"
