Robot Special Issues (Resovled Problems)
- Upon interfacing with the odroid via micro-hdmi to hdmi and running $ ifconfig with the usb-wifi antenna connected, wlan_ appears and RX bytes is 0 and TX bytes is also 0.
- When the odroid receives power, the blue light on the antenna blinks for a few seconds and then stops blinking for more than 3 seconds
eMMC chips will only connect with their original antenna to the wifi router. For this reason, all of the antennas are marked with a D (Deckard), P (Pris), Z (Zhora) or R (Roy) for their corresponding robot's eMMC chip. The cause of this issue is unconfirmed, but speculation leads to a configuration on each eMMC chips wifi driver that specifies an exact baud rate to communicate at that uniquely corresponds to its antenna's baud rate.
- Determine the names of all eMMC chips. Connect the eMMC chip to an odroid and then interface with the odroid via a micro-HDMI to HDMI connection. Find the name of the eMMC chip: odroid@name.
- By process of elimination determine which antenna corresponds to which eMMC chip. A successful match can be seen when first the blue light on the antenna flashes for a few seconds and then flashes faster without a significant stop. Usually the odroid at startup takes less than 30 seconds to communicate with its antenna, causing the antenna to blink. Attempt to ssh odroid@robot_name. If the connection is successful move on to the remaining unpaired eMMc's and antennas.
Rick Deckard concluded his "retiring" of androids on 5/31/2017. The cause of his death is not fully understood. Some say it was a broken control board, others a software issue on his control board, and some, that it was simply a power issue. One thing's for sure: It was more than a broken power button. He responded correctly to software resets and software shutdowns but remained persistent in his attempt to always stay energized when he was re-powered. He will now accept his fate of energizing other androids by taking on the title of "charger." - LT
