What does this PR do?

  • Add custom Java Mbean to Java calendar REST app
  • Update JAVA_OPTS for docker and localhost app to expose a jmxremote port for metric collection
  • Add config to collect custom JMX metric using the OTel Java agent

Motivation

  • Learning about OTel :)

going to check with my team about these changes; I know we are making some updates/changes to the otel demos ahead of a private beta
