Test Build 1 for v9
- A new experimental component, Alternative Item Usability Scheme for Cleric Kits, allows for greater differentiation amongst the cleric kits with their equipment usage, including the ability to use items not allowed by their parent class, e.g. Heartwarders can use darts.
- Cleric kits now come in two styles: the conventional style and a revamped style. The latter was previously only available if you installed the sphere system, but are now available standalone.
- Adapted my EE Tyr kit for non-EE games
- The handling of which kit works for which temple stronghold in BG2 has been significantly streamlined, as well as a few bugs (in the games themselves) fixed
- Some of the new spells on the EEs will add custom portrait icons for their effects
- Spells and abilities that scale with level will now cap at level 30 on IWDEE games, as that's the normal level cap there
- Spells that are created from existing spells now better account for the differences between IWDEE and BG games, e.g. Protection from Good now protects from charm in IWDEE, since IWDEE Protection from Evil provides this protection
- The spheres component has been reworked, again, with some major changes:
- Rather than a fixed list of spells, the component will now try to read through all available divine spells and assign spheres based on their description. If the dynamic assignment fails, it will fall back to fixed lookup tables. If that fails as well, the spell will not be restricted.
- Restricting HLA spells to spheres has been spun into its own optional component
- The previous method stored lots of interim information in external tables, which slowed down the process quite a bit. The new method does not and is substantially faster to install
- While some final issues with shaman spellcasting are worked out, the component is not available for the EEs
- Many, many, many bugfixes to the original kits and components. This list is not comprehensive by any means:
- Nightcloak's weapons (be it Dark Bolts or Chakrams) are no longer infinite
- Many spells/abilities that provided immunities to X were not complete, e.g. an immunity to blindness would still allow the blinded icon to appear on a character despite the character not being blinded
- Many holy weapons could be dropped on death, and many were using the wrong icon for the command bar
- Firewalker's fire protection was leaving multiple, permanent portrait icons (not visible to player, but still)
- Wilderness Runner's snares always failed on EE games
- Many minor issues, such as spells or abilities that should always be applied/always work getting blocked by spell protections or being dispelled
