Things required to install kexecboot on solana:

1. https://github.com/tmlind/droid4-kexecboot
2. fastboot installed and in $PATH
3. adb installed an in $PATH
4. firmware VRZ_XT862_5.5.1_84_D3G-66_M2-10_1FF_01a.xml installed on the device
   - if you have an older version please update to this version first
   - if you have a newer version plese follow https://maedevu.maemo.org/images/solana/README.txt instead
5. After installing kexecboot stock android can not be booted anymore, only mainline kernels and LinageOs will work!!
6. All data currently on the device will be lost by this procedure!!

Install kexecboot on the device with android 2.3.4 installed:

1. Reset the device
  1. Boot the device with both vol-up and vol-down depressed
  2. select the Recovery boot via vol-down and boot it via vol-up
  3. wait for the dead android icon
  4. press vol-up and vol-down simultaneously to get into the menu
  5. select wipe data/factory reset
2. boot the device to android
3. enable usb debugging in settings and connect usb cable
4. run root234.sh as root
5. wait for the device to boot to the android gui
6. run install.sh as root
7. enter fastboot mode (power on + vol-down)
8. fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
   - use allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin from this repo NOT the one from droid4-kexecboot!!
9. fastboot reboot bootloader
10. fastboot flash bpsw current/droid4-kexecboot.img
11. fastboot flash boot boot.img
12. fastboot reboot
13. the device should enter kexecboot after a short while

Uninstall:

1. grab VRZ_XT862_5.5.1_84_D3G-66_M2-10_1FF_01a.xml
2. extract
3. fastboot flash system system.img
