I took this tutorial at OSCON from Justin Ryan and enjoyed it but had some difficulties using an older EC2 Classic style account. I built a VPC during class, but had some problems with Asgard. During the conference I did some work to make get Asgard to recognize the VPC using the immutable_metadata tag from the wiki. Once that worked, I built a new VPC that acts like the default VPC in a new EC2 account. Screenshots are included, but they are from a different tool so don't look like the others.
I've gotten everything but Edda to work and that doesn't look VPC related at this point.
The steps for creating the VPC are very straightforward, so I suggest that using a clean VPC for the tutorial will also help with clean up and making sure that we don't do anything problematic to existing accounts during the tutorial.
